Fox orders Chernin duo

US network Fox has ordered a script for an animated project from Seth Green (Family Guy), while also developing a Shaun of the Dead-style dark comedy from Peter Chernin’s new vehicle.

Green has teamed up with Matthew Senreich and Tom Root, his partners on Adult Swim’s stop-motion efforts Robot Chicken and Titan Maximum, on the project, which will be produced by 20th Century Fox TV and studio-based Chernin Entertainment.

The project will use family life and a high school as backdrops for a wide cast of characters.

Separately, Chernin Entertainment has started work on a comedy drama by writer Diane Ruggiero at Fox. The project revolves around an estranged, dysfunctional group of siblings forced to live together in the family’s haunted house after their father dies.

Ruggiero, creator of CBS’s That’s Life and The Ex List, most recently executive produced ABC’s Cupid.
