Fort Boyard franchise expanded with crime drama, YouTube episode

French streamer Domingo (second from left) took part in a Fort Boyard adventure

France’s long-running adventure game format Fort Boyard is expanding into the creator space and getting a feature-length crime drama spin-off as it prepares to air a 37th season.

Originally created by Banijay France’s ALP for public broadcaster France Télévisions, the show’s forthcoming season will introduce new host Cyril Féraud, alongside revamped gameplay and new challenges.

Ahead of the launch, France TV and Banijay France have also partnered with French streamer Domingo for an exclusive creator-led adventure.

During a live Twitch broadcast, Domingo and fellow creators Baghera, ZeratoR and Clemquicourt explored the show’s fortress setting and took part in a host of trials. They also recorded a dedicated episode that is now available on france.tv and Domingo’s YouTube channel.

Further expanding the franchise, Screenline, part of Banijay France, has started filming a feature-length crime drama (1×90’), Meurtres à Fort Boyard (Murders at Fort Boyard), for France TV.

The latest instalment in the successful Meurtres à… collection, the spin-off is set against the backdrop of the fortress. The drama is written by Camille Guichard and David Crozier, and directed by Florence Fauquet, with Olivia Côte and Marie Petiot taking the lead roles.
