Former Universal Pictures Australia exec Jason Behan lands at Totem Global

Former Universal Pictures Australia exec Jason Behan has taken up a role at social media monetisation firm Totem Global.

As director of strategic partnerships, Behan will work with the film and TV industry to partner with companies looking to use Totem’s services to generate new revenue for their catalogues using social platforms.

Behan was previously VP of acquisitions at Universal Pictures Australia but left in 2020 as part of global lay-offs at NBCUniversal caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Prior to joining Universal, he managed local acquisitions for Beyond Rights for its international and home entertainment divisions.

In November last year, Dutch on-demand content services provider ODMedia hired Behan to head its new office in Sydney.

The exec is also the founder of Summer Star Creative, which he set up following his departure from Universal Pictures to provide development, management and distribution services.
