Former Blue Ant execs Attwood, Daniere launch unscripted studio Serial Maven

Solange Attwood and Asha Daniere have cofounded Serial Maven Studios

Former Blue Ant Media executives Solange Attwood and Asha Daniere have teamed up to co-found an unscripted-focused studio business.

The Toronto-based entity, Serial Maven Studios, plans to explore new models for the development, financing, production, distribution and monetisation of original unscripted properties, with Attwood serving as CEO and Daniere as president.

Attwood previously spent a decade leading the distribution arm of Blue Ant Media, where she managed coproductions, pre-sales and worldwide sales activities and led the company’s expansion with the opening of offices in Toronto, London, New York, Singapore and Australia.

She exited her role as executive VP of Blue Ant International in September after parent company Blue Ant Media acquired  Toronto-based Marblemedia and merged the two firms’ production and distribution operations to form one unified studio and rights business.

Daniere is a veteran media executive with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing and corporate governance. She spent eight years with Blue Ant from 2012 to 2020, most recently as exec VP of business and legal affairs, and also sits on the boards of organisations including the Toronto International Film Festival and Thunderbird Entertainment.

“We’re thrilled to launch Serial Maven Studios as a next generation studio using creative business models that enable us to build value and provide content solutions for our partners,” said Attwood.

“With a focus on discoverable and high-quality programming, we are looking forward to sharing our slate from our partners with our global network.”
