Food Network US, Discovery+ bring in Italian-American chef Giada De Laurentiis

Discovery-owned Food Network in the US has signed an exclusive content deal with Italian-American chef Giada De Laurentiis.

De Laurentiis will produce and front content for both Food Network’s linear channel and the Discovery+ streaming platform.

The first project under the deal is Simply Giada, a series inspired by De Laurentiis’ recent cookbook in which she shares recipes for eating better every day without skimping on flavour.

De Laurentiis already has a relationship with Food Network as the host of series including Everyday Italian, Giada at Home and Giada in Italy.

“Giada De Laurentiis is a culinary icon who has taught audiences how to prepare as well as properly pronounce every classic pasta dish as no one else could, and we are so excited that this creative star, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, wants to continue to call Food Network her home,” said Courtney White, president of Food Network.

“Simply Giada is the perfect jump start to the new year, with accessible and easy-to-do dishes that feature all the quintessential Giada trademarks – delicious recipes mixed with personable charm.”
