FNG hires Keshet drama exec

Fox Networks Group (FNG) Europe and Africa has appointed a leading drama executive from Keshet UK to help source, develop and produce original productions at a regional level.

Sara Johnson will become VP of scripted drama for FNG Europe and Africa from September 12 in what will be FNG’s first drama development position in those regions.

Based in London, Johnson will create a development and production slate for the Fox channel.

She will report to Jeff Ford, senior VP of content development for Europe and Africa and MD of FNG UK.

Ford said: “Bringing Sara to the company reinforces our commitment to develop fresh, new drama for this region specifically, combining the internationally renowned talent and creativity here in the European television industry with Fox’s expertise in quality TV production.”

Johnson was previously executive producer and head of scripted coproduction at Keshet UK and was the first senior creative to join the UK arm of the Israeli producer.

During her tenure she exec produced six-part BBC1 drama The A Word and eight-part Channel 4 scripted series Loaded. Before joining Keshet, Johnson was head of development and executive producer at La Plante Productions.

In January, former Kudos exec Howard Burch joined Keshet UK as its head of drama, working alongside Johnson and Andrea Michell, development producer of scripted.

At Fox, Johnson will also work with Sharon Tal Yguado, executive VP of scripted programming and original content in the LA-based global team, on regional projects.
