FME dishes up double helping of Jamie

MIPCOM NEWS: FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has sealed a double deal in Northern Europe for shows featuring UK celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.

A new five-year content agreement with Fox International Channels (FIC) sees newly launched basic pay digital channel 24Kitchen become the Dutch home for Oliver’s programmes. These include his latest series Jamie’s Great Britain (6×60′).

The deal also includes FME’s other culinary titles from chefs Anthony Bourdain, Annabel Langbein, Donna Hay and Bill Grainger.

24Kitchen is available to over three million viewers in the Netherlands and is a joint venture between Fox Channels Benelux and Jan Dekker Holding.

In a second deal for FME, new programming fronted by the Cockney chef is bound for ProSiebenSat.1-owned female-skewing free-TV channel Sixx.

Titles picked up by Sixx include Jamie’s 30 Minute Meals (40×30′), Jamie’s Food Escapes (6×60′), Jamie’s American Road Trip (6×60′), Jamie’s Family Christmas (5×30′) and Jamie at Home (26×30′).

FME has sold Jamie Oliver’s shows into more than 140 countries, where it has been translated into at least 30 languages since it took on the distribution rights in 2002.
