FilmRise nabs SVoD, AVoD, FAST rights to three Rooster Teeth animated shows

Animated comedy series Red vs Blue

New York-based studio and streaming network FilmRise has picked up exclusive SVoD, AVoD and FAST rights to a trio of web series from digital media company Rooster Teeth.

Under the deal, FilmRise has all episodes of animated series Red vs Blue, Camp Camp and Nomad of Nowhere.

The projects are the first acquired by FilmRise for its new “digital native content division,” through which the company will curate groupings of episodes from each property and package them into traditional half-hour TV-style seasons for streaming audiences.

Texas-based Rooster Teeth is owned by Otter Media, a subsidiary of Warner Bros Discovery.

The comedy Red vs Blue is set against the Halo video game world, chronicling the lives of soldiers on the Red Team and the Blue Team. Camp Camp follows the misadventures of a cynical 10-year-old sent to summer camp against his will. Nomad of Nowhere follows two bounty hunters as they track a non-verbal scarecrow for his magical capabilities. All three projects were produced by Rooster Teeth’s animation studio in Texas.

The deal was negotiated by Jonitha Keymoore, VP global content acquisitions at FilmRise and Geoff Yetter, head of licensing and consumer products at Rooster Teeth. According to the companies, the Rooster Teeth brand has a global fanbase of more than 45 million people.
