FilmRise, Kin cook up family recipes with Tia Mowry for Not Like Mama

Tia Mowry will front Not Like Mama

New York-based distributor and digital channels operator FilmRise is working with LA-based lifestyle entertainment company Kin on a cooking challenge series fronted by actress, producer, author, entrepreneur and host Tia Mowry.

Co-hosted by singer-songwriter and talkshow host Terrell Grice, Not Like Mama will see a family member put to the test to prepare their matriarch/patriarch’s ‘family recipe’ to perfection.

FilmRise has also acquired the worldwide AVoD and free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) rights to 80 episodes of YouTube series Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix, which is also produced by Kin, for the FilmRise Streaming Network.

The series features Sister, Sister star Mowry’s game-changing life hacks, cooking challenges and vlogs with her family.

Michael Wayne, co-founder and CEO at Kin, said the series “expands Kin’s commitment to create thoughtful, celebrity-driven lifestyle programming for diverse women’s audiences.”

The news comes after Film Rise announced earlier this week it is working with Blue Ant International and Back2back Productions on true crime series Killers: Caught on Camera, which is being made with backing from CBS Reality, Seven.One Entertainment Group and Viaplay Group.

FilmRise has secured all exclusive distribution rights in the US, Canada and the Caribbean. CBS Reality has exclusive broadcast rights in the UK and Africa. The international rights are available through Blue Ant International.
