FilmRise in US secures six anime titles for AVoD, FAST from Fuji Creative

MIPTV: New York-based studio and streaming network FilmRise has acquired the North American and Latin American AVoD and FAST rights to six anime shows from Japan’s Fuji Creative Corporation, distribution arm of Fuji Television Network.

The deal includes Flame of Recca (42×30’), Ghosts At School (20×30’) and GTO (44×30’), which will launch across FilmRise Streaming Network’s Anime Channel and app. The other titles are Key: The Metal Idol (9×30’), Thermae Romae (5×30’) and Battery (11×30’).

The agreement, which comes shortly after Fuji TV’s Iron Chef landed at The FilmRise Streaming Network, was announced on the first day of MipTV in Cannes. It was negotiated by Jonitha Keymoore, VP of global content acquisitions at FilmRise, and Francois Grosjean, deputy director of global sales at Fuji Creative.
