Gagliardi will oversee the growth and performance optimisation of FilmRise’s AVoD and free ad-supported TV (FAST) channels business. He will report to FilmRise’s senior VP and head of sales, Melissa Wohl.

Prior to joining FilmRise, which operates the FilmRise Streaming Network, a portfolio of ad-supported streaming apps and FAST channels, Gagliardi served for two years as head of content at US-based digital video store and streaming service Vudu. His remit at the Fandango Media-owned company included original programming and licensing.

Before that he spent seven years with US studio Lionsgate, most recently as VP of worldwide television and digital distribution, overseeing content licensing partnerships with a particular focus on AVoD.

“[Gagliardi] brings high level and valuable experience working at large content providers and streaming platforms since the genesis of SVoD and AVoD which will surely have an immediate positive impact on our initiatives in support of our streaming partners and our own FilmRise OTT channels,” said FilmRise CEO Danny Fisher in a statement.

According to the company it has more than 50,000 licensed and originally produced scripted and unscripted films and TV episodes across all genres. Those include Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, true crime series Unsolved Mysteries and UK series such as Peep Show, Shameless and Midsomer Murders.

FilmRise’s roster of original productions includes Bloodline Detectives hosted by Nancy Grace and Meet, Marry, Murder.
