Ferguson, Cox partner on US gameshow

FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) is producing a syndicated gameshow in the US fronted by Scottish comedian Craig Ferguson and developed by Courteney Cox’s prodco.

Celebrity Name Game is based on the board game Identity Crisis and sees celebrities team with contestants to identify famous names, including actors, singers, athletes, pop culture figures, politicians and even cartoon characters.

It has been developed by Courteney Cox (Friends) and David Arquette’s Coquette Productions alongside Scott St John (Deal or No Deal), who will also serve as showrunner on the half-hour show.

Craig Ferguson is well known in the US as the host of CBS chatshow The Late, Late Show.

The gameshow is scheduled for a fall 2014 nationally syndicated launch and marks the second collaboration between FMNA and Lionsgate-owned producer-distributor Debmar-Mercury, after Family Feud.

Courtney Cox said: “We want viewers to have as much fun watching this series as we have had playing it with friends, many of whom are also big fans and want to be a part of this.”
