France’s Federation launches new production company with Laetitia Recayte

France’s Federation Studios is joining forces with industry veteran Laetitia Recayte to launch a new production company focused primarily on documentaries.

Laetitia Recayte

Lapinxa Production is a newly launched company within the Federation group, led by Recayte, whose track record includes positions at France Televisions and TF1-owned Newen.

She was most recently at Robin&Co, which was acquired by Federation Studios in February 2022, where she has served as MD since January 2021.

A well-known figure in the French audiovisual landscape, Recayte started her career as head of legal and business affairs at Marathon in 1995 – this was Federation founder Pascal Breton’s first company, co-created with Olivier Brémond. She then joined Newen in 2002, as MD of Newen Distribution as well as MD of prodco subsidiary Telfrance and member of the company’s exec committee.

In 2015, she was elected president of TVFI (now Unifrance) and joined France Televisions alongside Delphine Ernotte Cunci as VP of sales and development and later CEO of France TV Distribution and CEO of production subsidiary France.tv Studio.

The move announced today see her start a new career as a producer. Lapinxa will primarily focus on documentary series, but also on feature films and fiction series.

Its first production, Locked Up (aka Les Reclus), is a 4×52′ documentary series for pay TV broadcaster Canal+, in coproduction with Calt Production, written and directed by novelist, writer and director Sandrine Cohen.

Locked Up focuses on 11 people from the same family who lived under the sway of one man, Thierry Tilly, who they took to be their saviour, convinced they were victims of a conspiracy.
