Far Eastern deals come in for Southern Star

Australian distributor Southern Star Sales has signed a number of pre-MIPCOM deals with Singaporean and Malaysian broadcasters, as well as HBO Asia.

HBO Asia has secured Pan-Asian rights to three of the distributor's new telemovies, including the martial arts comedy Hard Knox, thriller-with-a-twist Do or Die and dating show Love or Money.

Singapore’s Kids Central has picked up rights to MIPCOM-launching Cushion Kids and the animated series Tracey McBean, as well as series 3 of Hi-5 and re-broadcast rights for Hi-5 series1, 2 and specials.

On the factual side, Radio Television Malaysia has signed for a 17-hour documentary package from Southern Star Wild & Real, while Astro in Malaysia has picked up a 53-hour package of the series Totally Wild and How 2.

Singapore Cable Vision has also taken re-broadcast rights for Lyrick Studio's kids' show Barney, following its first run on free TV.
