Family Food Fight breaks out in Mexico

Family Food Fight was created for Nine Network in Australia

Mexican broadcaster Televisa has commissioned a local version of Family Food Fight from Endemol Shine Boomdog.

The format was originally created by Endemol Shine Australia for the Nine Network down under and Televisa will be the second Lat Am adaptation following an Argentinian version which aired on Telefe last year.

The format sees families compete against each other with their own relatable yet aspirational home-cooking recipes.

US broadcast network ABC is preparing to debut an eight-part version, produced by Endemol Shine North America, on June 20 and the format has also been picked up in Switzerland and Denmark.

Endemol Shine Boomdog is a Spanish-language prodco set up by Endemol Shine North America and local prodco Boomdog as a joint venture. It agreed a coproduction deal with Televisa in January.

The deal extends Televisa and Endemol Shine’s longstanding production relationship, which has seen the companies working together on local remakes of formats such as Big Brother.

Drama Hijos del Tigre, which will be released this year, is the first project to emerge from the partnershop while Endemol Shine Boomdog will also work on a copro basis on scripted series Me Caigo de Risa (Anything Goes), which is into its third season.
