Ex-Little Dot Studios exec Rachel Carson takes acquisitions role at Off The Fence

Former Kartoon Studios and Little Dot Studios staffer Rachel Carson has been appointed to the position of acquisitions executive at European factual distributor Off The Fence (OTF).

OTF said the addition of Carson to the outfit’s senior leadership team will strengthen its “full portfolio rights expertise.” She will report to VP of acquisitions Loren Baxter.

Carson joins from Little Dot Studios, where she served as an acquisitions executive for just over a year. There she picked up around 2,000 hours for the All3Media-owned digital content specialist, supporting more than 135 YouTube brands and seven FAST channels.

Prior to that, Carson was senior director of international sales and acquisitions at kids’ content company Kartoon Studios. She also previously served as sales director at transatlantic producer-distributor Entertainment One, helping to grow preschool brands such as Peppa Pig, PJ Masks and Transformers.

Last year, OTF entered into bankruptcy proceedings in the Netherlands. Dutch unscripted channels operator and content producer Insight TV subsequently acquired parts of the company, retaining the sales element but closing OTF’s production arm.

In September, Insight TV then launched World Storytelling Media Group (WSMG) to consolidate the company. Insight TV and OTF now sit under the WSMG banner, unifying the commercial teams into a single unit.

Baxter said: “Rachel comes to us with over 10-years’ experience in the TV distribution world and with her more recent position as acquisitions executive at Little Dot Studios, we’re confident she’ll bring huge value to us as a group as we navigate our place under the World Storytelling Media banner.”

In related news, OTF has added several titles to its slate for the upcoming London TV Screenings. They include Lion Mountain Media’s Mind of a Predator (7×60’), Secret Ways of Wild Dogs (1×60’) and an additional 34 hours of programming from Lion Mountain’s natural history library. Also joining the roster is Growing Up Cat (2×60’, WildEarth TV) and Staged: Deadly Deceptions (10×60’, Enderley Pictures).
