Europe’s Media Musketeers hires for US, Singapore in expansion drive

European production and financing group Media Musketeers has hired a former MJZ executive and a BBC Studios (BBCS) alumna as it expands into the US and Singapore, in addition to unveiling its drama slate for Mipcom.

Aeysha Walsh

LA-based Aeysha Walsh has been appointed as producer and director of development, while Singapore-based Victoria de Kerdrel has been appointed VP for Asia Pacific.

In her new role, Walsh will work to increase Media Musketeers’ editorial presence in the US by building relationships and helping to drive and expand development and production.

Meanwhile, de Kerdrel will be responsible for distribution and coproduction projects and building partnerships with creatives in the Asia-Pacific region.

Previously, Walsh spearheaded the feature film division of MJZ and has worked as a freelance producer on the film Spring Breakers, which starred Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens.

Prior to joining Media Musketeers, de Kerdrel worked as a consultant for K7 Media and for Connect with Asia, as well as senior VP for TRX TV.

De Kerdrel also worked at BBCS for seven years, where she held positions such as television sales and coproduction manager for France and senior sales executive for Italy.

In other Media Musketeers news, the company is presenting seven scripted series at next week’s Mipcom.

The slate includes dark survival thriller Pulse (6×60’), a coproduction between ForLan Films, Showmax and The Mediapro Studio, and prison crime drama Un Prophète (10×52’), a series adaptation of the Jacques Audiard film of the same name.

Produced by YLE and MediaPro, The Paradise (8×50’) is a Nordic noir set in Spain and Finland, while The Hook (10×60’) is a drama set in the world of UK pop, following the lives of a family at the heart of the music business.

Francia Nostra is a period drama that follows the hidden world of French organised crime and the rise of the French Corsican mafia and is produced by Fabio Conversi.

Finally, The Increment (8×60’) is an espionage thriller set inside an ultra-secret unit of British intelligence.

Andy Docherty, managing partner at Media Musketeers, said: “Expanding our reach around the world is a top priority as we move forward with so many new projects and partnerships. Both Aeysha and Victoria bring a wealth of experience that will be invaluable to us over the next few years. We are very much looking forward to working with them and being in Cannes this year with such a strong line-up of high-end dramas.”
