European producer Vincent TV sets up in UK with Simon Shalgosky, Daniel Brookes

Vincent TV’s versions of Stellify format Pretty & Single

European prodco Vincent TV has set up in the UK, appointing Simon Shalgosky as creative director and Daniel Brookes as development executive.

Vincent TV UK will focus on unscripted entertainment, factual, factual entertainment and music format. It has already secured a pilot for a Saturday night show with an unnamed broadcaster.

Filming will take place later this year in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television-backed Stellify Media, which is on board the as-yet-unannounced show as the production partner.

It comes after Vincent TV, which has offices in the Netherlands and Belgium, has delivered two Dutch seasons of Stellify format Pretty & Single.

At Vincent TV UK, Shalgosky will be across all operations while Brookes is charged with building a slate of original ideas to pitch to broadcasters and streamers in the UK and internationally.

Shalgosky, the former head of international development at Seven Studios and head of entertainment development at Lion TV, has previously held senior development and production roles at Keshet UK, ITV Studios, Celador, Tiger Aspect and the BBC.

Brookes, meanwhile, has previously worked at Syco Entertainment, the BBC, ITV Studios and MGM.

Vincent ter Voert, founder of Vincent TV, said: “The launch of Vincent TV UK is a strategic part of Vincent TV’s international growth and a chance to create shows for one of the most innovative markets in the world.

“Our goal is to create formats that are instantly recognisable from the moment viewers first tune in, defining in style and to always make a splash with their execution. Simon and Daniel have hit the ground running in a challenging landscape and demonstrated that the future is bright with them at the helm.”

Shalgosky added: “As a new indie with big ideas, partnerships are a priority for us. This is why we’ve teamed up with Stellify and Sony Pictures for our ambitious debut pilot. Sarah Edwards, Matt Worthy and Kieran Doherty have been brilliant to work with and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them in the future.”

Vincent TV was founded in 2014 by ter Voert, Vera Driessen and Ruud van Breugel to create and produce formats focused on humour, talent and topical stories.

It is known for shows such as Chateau Meiland (SBS6), Five Days Inside (RTL4), Chateau Planckaert (VRT), Verdict on Demand (SBS6), Going Once Going Twice (VTM), Who Wants to be a Millionaire? (RTL4) and Injustice! (NPO3).
