European broadcasters take Spanish drama Two Lives from StudioCanal

Spanish daily drama Two Lives

NATPE BUDAPEST: Broadcasters around Europe have acquired Spanish daily drama Two Lives (Dos Vidas) from distributor StudioCanal, totalling over 250 episodes.

Pickbox has picked up the 255×60′ series for its TV service and SVoD platform Pickbox Now and will make it available throughout Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia and Montenegro.

Created originally for pubcaster RTVE in Spain, the series has also been acquired by other European broadcasters including LNK in Lithuania, YLE in Finland, NRK in Norway and C8 in France.

The sales come after the series has already begun airing on Mediaset in Italy, where it is becoming a ratings hit.

The show is produced by StudioCanal-owned Bambú Producciones, led by Ramón Campos and Teresa Fernández Valdés, and creator of successful daily shows, Josep Cister.

The series follows two strong women and tells a universal story of love and family with a modern narrative echoing the past and present, StudioCanal said.

Sarah Mottershead, sales director for TV series at StudioCanal, who brokered the deals throughout Central and Eastern Europe, said: “It is an exceptionally well-produced, long-running series which has been a huge hit on RTVE, reaching the top 10 of the most watched shows alongside primetime series.”
