Euro, Asian nets add Belgian kids’ shows

Buck has been acquired in Slovenia, Spain, Italy and Kazakhstan

Buyers including RTV Slovenia and and Telecomp ERA in Kazakhstan have picked up children’s series originally commissioned by Belgian-Flemish pubcaster VRT.

Hoodie (52×11’) is a superhero story that centres on a normal boy with a talent for parkour. The show has been picked up by RTV, the international version of French pay TV channel Canal+ and Amazon for all German-speaking territories.

RTV has also bought Buck (32×15’), as have Italy’s Rai, EITB in Spain and Telecomp ERA in Kazakhstan. The series follows a bullied schoolboy with a difficult home life who discovers a new hero, Commander Buck, when playing computer games.

Finally, #LikeMe (26×26’) has been picked up by Danish pubcaster DR and Amazon for the UK and German-speaking territories. The series is a heartfelt tale of a young girl readjusting to life after her mum is diagnosed with cancer and she has to move to the city to be closer to a hospital.

The shows are distributed by ZDF Enterprises, the commercial arm of the German pubcaster.
