Estonian brothel drama picked up

MIPTV: Independent Swedish distributor Eyewall and UK-based sales house Videoplugger have picked up the international rights to an Estonian period crime drama.

The Whores won Best Series at the Estonian Film and TV Awards last week and has broken ratings records in its homeland. The plot is set in a brothel in 1939, the clientele of which includes powerful figures and members of the invading Red Army.

Eyewall will handle global sales outside the US and UK, with those territories covered by Videoplugger.
