Zee Plus and TelevisaUnivisions’ The Spice Trails: Latin America

MIPTV: Australian distributor Escapade Media has expanded its slate of food and lifestyle programming for this week’s MipTV in Cannes.

Escapade has picked up the rights to Zee Plus and TelevisaUnivisions’ coproduction The Spice Trails: Latin America for the UK, Ireland, France and French-speaking territories, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands.

The 12-part series features culinary adventures through Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina.

Escapade will also launch Grassroots, a six-part drama series from StoryFirst and Hipster Films about a women’s community rugby league team.

Escapade has secured Asia-Pacific and German rights to the series, which was created by John Godber and written by Elizabeth Godber, Jane Thornton and Nicola Quilter. Escapade will also executive produce the series.

MD Natalie Lawley told C21 Escapade is in discussions with potential buyers in Asia-Pacific and Germany at the moment, with significant interest shown in Australia and New Zealand.
