eOne’s Hemperek goes Beyond

UK- and Australia-based sales and production group Beyond has appointed an executive from Entertainment One (eOne) to oversee acquisitions at its distribution arm.

Justina Hemperek becomes head of acquisitions at Beyond Distribution and will work across the company’s acquisitions and pre-sales. She will take up the role in March and report to general manager Michael Murphy.

Hemperek joins from eOne’s distribution arm, where she was director of acquisitions for the UK, Europe and Australia. Before that she held a similar role at ITV Studios Global Entertainment and has also spent time at All3Media International and RDF Rights in the UK.

In her native Australia, she worked for Nickelodeon Australia as well as Fox World Australia.

She replaces Caitlin Meek O’Connor, who left Beyond last year and has since joined UK digital prodco Little Dot Studios.

Sarah McCormack, who was named acting head of acquisitions at Beyond following O’Connor’s exit, has accepted a new role as senior VP of acquisitions for UK, Europe and kids at Beyond.

Murphy said Hemperek would “play a key role as we ramp up our acquisitions activity.”
