eOne gets Fired Up

Transatlantic producer and distributor Entertainment One (eOne) has inked a multi-year overall television deal with Simon Howley and Jon-Barrie Waddell’s prodco Fired Up Films.

eOne will coproduce and serve as the studio on scripted and non-scripted projects under the partnership.

UK and US-based Fired Up was founded by industry veterans Waddell and Howley last year and focuses on blue-chip series and documentaries, factual entertainment formats, feature docs and drama.

The pair boast more than 25 years of experience, having produced global content across a range of genres since first working together on Channel 4 (C4)’s The Big Breakfast together two decades ago.

Their credits include Million Dollar Car Hunters for BBC Studios and C4, Hitler’s Hidden Drug Habit for National Geographic and C4, How Jaws Changed the World for Discovery and C4, and Future Weapons for Discovery.

Fired Up has an advanced programming slate with both non-scripted and scripted projects, along with several major development deals with networks in North America, the UK and Ireland.

The deal comes after eOne recently acquired a majority stake in UK non-scripted firm Whizz Kid Entertainment.
