eOne develops civil rights docuseries

Producer and distributor Entertainment One (eOne) has partnered with the civil rights lawyer representing the family of George Floyd for a new docuseries.

L Chris Stewart and eOne are developing a factual series about his pursuit of justice for the victims of high-profile race-related police brutality cases.

Burden of Justice will examine cases including those of Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Rayshard Brooks and Walter Scott, taking viewers inside Stewart’s biggest cases of wrongful death at the hands of law enforcement.

The project is being developed by Madison Merritt, eOne’s executive VP of development for unscripted television. Stewart serves as an exec producer.

Stewart is recognised as one of the top civil rights lawyers of his generation, and the only attorney in American history to receive a billion-dollar jury verdict for an individual sexual assault victim.
