eOne backs Mark Gordon Pictures

Entertainment One (eOne)’s former president and chief content officer for film and television, Mark Gordon, has set up a new production company backed by the transatlantic producer and distributor.

Mark Gordon

Mark Gordon Pictures will focus on film and television and will see Gordon, producer of shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Criminal Minds, continue to create content for eOne. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Last year, Gordon moved into a development and producing role within eOne, which was then acquired by US toy giant Hasbro for US$4bn in the second half of 2019.

Gordon became the boss of eOne’s film and TV division in 2018, in return for eOne gaining full control of his eponymous LA-based studio in a US$209m, five-year deal.

According to US reports, Mark Gordon Pictures has offices in LA, New York and London and has a “significant” in-house development fund.

Its executive team includes former Mark Gordon Company exec Bibby Dunn and former NBCUniversal International Studios exec Katie Myers in LA.

Jessica Chase, previously the artistic producer at MCC Theatre, will lead the New York office, while Beth Pattinson, formerly of prodcos such as Blueprint Pictures and Cuba Films & TV, will head the London office.

Also in the London office is Bonnie-Chance Roberts, former head of film at Monumental Pictures.

The news was first reported by Deadline.
