eOne appoints Asia sales director

Transatlantic producer and distributor Entertainment One (eOne) has hired a director of sales for Japan, Korea and pan-Asia, international distribution as part of the prodco’s growth strategy.

Alex Oe

Based in Seoul, Alex Oe will be responsible for sales of eOne’s film and TV slate across all linear and non-linear OTT platforms in his territories.

eOne said Oe’s appointment is part of the company’s plan to further build and broaden its relationships in Asia.

Oe was previously VP of Asia distribution for US prodco Legendary Television, part of Legendary Entertainment, where he was responsible for sales of series such as The Expanse and Colony and the film Dead Rising.

Prior to this, Oe was sales and acquisitions director at South Korea’s CJ E&M, where he oversaw worldwide programme and format sales including reality travel series Grandpas Over Flowers, known as Better Late Than Never on NBC in the US.

Oe was most recently consulting for software firm Vobile, where he oversaw Asian content acquisitions.

“Oe’s extensive sales experience in both finished programmes and format/coproduction across Asia and worldwide will no doubt drive further growth to our business in Japan, Korea and pan-Asia markets,” said Joyce Yeung, eOne’s executive VP of sales for APAC, international distribution.

“Timing is perfect for us as we recently scored our first format coproduction deal in Korea for Designated Survivor: 60 Days.”
