eOne adds scripted veteran

Entertainment One (eOne) has appointed a TV veteran with more than two decades of experience to its scripted development team in Los Angeles.

Gerard Bocaccio becomes senior VP of US scripted development at eOne Television, reporting to Michael Rosenberg, exec VP of US scripted television. He will cultivate and develop programming for the US market as well as pursuing new avenues for growth and seek creative partners to expand output.

Bocaccio has more than 25 years of TV development and production experience and was most recently a consultant for LA-based Blumhouse Productions, where he worked on South of Hell, and the Discovery Channel, launching their scripted programming with the network’s first drama, Klondike.

Before that he was president of television at LA-based Silver Pictures and senior VP of entertainment at US network FX.

Rosenberg said Bocaccio’s experience “spans all aspects of the development and production process necessary to create groundbreaking television.”

His arrival at the transatlantic producer and distributor follows Stuart Baxter’s appointment as president of its television arm last month, ahead of incumbent Peter Emerson’s departure.

eOne last week acquired Canada’s Phase 4 Films for US$24.8m.
