Envision options Inspector Mislan crime thriller

NEWS BRIEF: London-based scripted prodco Envision Entertainment has optioned best-selling crime thriller 21 Immortals: Inspector Mislan & the Yee Sang Murders for adaptation as a TV series.

The Inspector Mislan books, set in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, follow the exploits of a tough street cop and were written by former Malaysia CID investigator Rozlan Mohd Noor. In April 2022, Envision’s Connected: The Homebound Detective, a coproduction with Nippon TV, was broadcast in Japan. The company was founded by Michael Nakan in 2021 and its executive team includes Harry Potter producer David Barron and former HBO Europe CEO Linda Jensen.
