Electus, Shine form sales company

Former NBC Entertainment chief Ben Silverman has reunited with former Reveille colleagues at Shine International to form Electus Distribution, and has also partnered with an Israeli production house for content rights.

Electus Distribution is a partnership between Silverman’s IAC-backed digital prodco Electus and Shine International, the distribution arm of Elisabeth Murdoch’s Shine Group. It will handle worldwide sales for Electus and third-party content, including TV, film and digital.

The firm will be run by Silverman and Shine International president Chris Grant and be based at Shine International. The duo, who previously worked together at Reveille, are currently staffing up.

The new entity has signed its first distribution partnership, with Israel-based Abbot Reif Hameiri Production Company. Under the deal, Electus Distribution will develop the Israeli firm’s programming in the US, while Abbot Reif Hameiri has the rights to repurpose Electus content in Israel.

“This unique collaboration is the first of its kind in Israel, and provides an exceptional opportunity- both for talented artists and for our company,” said Guy Hameiri, CEO of Abbot Reif Hameiri. “Working with Electus will allow us to provide a proper platform for talented artists and strengthen our presence in the global content market.”
