Electus sends Smartest global

Producers and broadcasters across Europe and Latin America have picked up factual entertainment format Smartest Person.

The show, which was created by Robert Cohen and originally developed by Media Headquarters for Canuck broadcaster CBC, has been acquired by FremantleMedia in France and Portugal and Constantin Entertainment in Germany.

Argentinian broadcaster El Trece has also ordered 16 episodes of the series after a deal between Mandarina Television and distributor Electus International.

The format is a primetime competitive reality series in which competitors prove their intelligence in unique challenges that go beyond trivia or IQ tests.

Electus last year sold the format to Turkey’s TRT, with Sera Film producing the series.
