E4 demands that Alan Must Win, Kids Rebuild the Future on social media

Short-form digital series Kids Rebuild the Future

Channel 4’s youth-skewing E4 network in the UK has commissioned Alan Must Win, a new reality series with a secret twist at the end.

The 8×60’ series is coproduced by STV Studios-owned Primal Media and Motion Content Group.

It sees a larger-than-life cast compete in a popularity contest in a unique setting, unaware that a stable of celebrities has set up next door playing their own game to make sure the underdog ‘Alan’ in the group emerges as the winner.

Commissioning editor Mel Bezalel said: “At E4, we’re completely obsessed with reality that drives viewing on All 4, and we’re excited about taking the genre in a completely (and sneaky) new direction.”

The executive producers for Primal are Adam Wood and Mat Steiner with Martin Oxley for Motion, and Ben Riley is head of development for Primal. It was commissioned by Bezalel and head of youth and digital Karl Warner.

Elsewhere, the commercially funded UK pubcaster has teamed with Danish toy manufacturer Lego to launch Kids Rebuild the Future, a short-form digital series for the broadcaster’s social media channels.

The four-part series, produced by Kalel Productions, features comedians Judi Love, Aisling Bea, Rhys James and Katherine Ryan partnering with kids to build Lego creations.

Kids Rebuild the Future debuts this week on Channel 4’s YouTube channels, whilst shorter 60 second edits of each episode will be released on Channel 4’s Instagram and Snapchat accounts.
