Drama Summit West set for May 2016

Drama Summit West is set to launch in LA in May next year, providing a platform for US show creators and global financiers to collaborate on international drama series development.

The event will take place in Hollywood, and is a coproduction between C21Media and MediaXchange, with further partners to be announced.

More information will be released at www.dramasummitwest.com.

Drama Summit West will leverage C21’s market-leading International Drama Summit brand, which takes place in London during December, and MediaXchange’s 24-year history of facilitating relationships between US showrunners and the international drama community.

C21’s publishing portfolio, including Channel 21 international, C21Media.net, Dramaquarterly.com and DQ magazine will support the initiative.

David Jenkinson, C21 editor-in-chief & managing director, said: “The world is flattening, and the exchange of ideas, talent and finance across the international drama business has never been more vital. Drama Summit West will bring leading drama writers, creators and producers together with the global drama finance and coproduction business to make new series happen.”

Katrina Wood, founder and CEO MediaXchange, said: “It is a great pleasure to expand our collaboration with C21 to create an event in Hollywood, focusing on our area of speciality, which will establish a true exchange of US and European creative interests, as well as with those who will join from further afield. It reflects the accelerating trend for a fusion of interests, creating a patchwork of stories from cultures across the globe.”

Further information will be announced shortly.
