Drama development head Michelle Mendelovitz to leave 20th Television

Michelle Mendelovitz, head of drama development at Disney’s 20th Television, is set to leave the company at the end of the month.

Mendelovitz joined 20th Television in March 2020 from Apple, where she served as a creative executive, working on dramas including Servant, Defending Jacob, Invasion and For All Mankind. A replacement has not yet been named and it is unclear what   Mendelovitz’s next move will be.

During her tenure at 20th Television, Mendelovitz has overseen projects including Washington Black and Tyson for Hulu and Spiderwick Chronicles for Disney+. She also played a key role in signing creator and showrunner Ron Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Outlander, For All Mankind) to an overall deal.

Before joining Apple, Mendelovitz was VP of scripted programming at Sony Pictures Television.
