Dragons’ Den exec heads Lambert office

Gogglebox and Undercover Boss producer Studio Lambert is opening a new UK office in Manchester, led by an executive producer of BBC2 format Dragons’ Den.

Darrell Olsen is joining the firm as head of unscripted at Studio Lambert North. He has executive produced Dragons’ Den for the past two years and was series editor of the business show before that.

Studio Lambert said today it would move some of its returning series to Manchester next year as well as developing new ideas from the hub.

Olsen takes up the new role in January and will report to CEO Stephen Lambert and creative director Tim Harcourt. Studio Lambert North will be the company’s third production base, adding to its offices in London and Los Angeles.

Lambert said: “Establishing a permanent regional base is a significant step for us and I’m delighted someone with Darrell’s considerable experience and talent has agreed to spearhead our ambitious plans.

“We appreciate the pressure on UK broadcasters to commission out of London and moving the production of some of our returning series to Manchester means Studio Lambert North will get off to a flying start.”
