Disney picks up French children’s series Ghostforce for North America, Japan, India

Ghostface first aired on France’s TF1

Disney has acquired the rights to children’s animated action-comedy series Ghostforce in further territories via a deal with French indie studio Zag.

Created and produced by Zag founder Jeremy Zag, the series is aimed at kids aged 6-10 and follows three junior-high students who form a secret team to defend their city from the ghouls haunting it.

Ghostforce will debut on linear channel Disney XD in the US today after Disney licensed the show for North America, Japan and India. This comes after existing deals to air the series on Disney Channel EMEA, Russia and the Middle East.

Ghostforce had its world premiere on French network TF1 on August 28. Disney Channel has already debuted the series in Germany and Israel, with additional territories to be announced this autumn. A toy line is also in the works for 2022.
