Disney+ makes a Castle Man out of Alan Carr in unscripted series for Hulu

Disney+ has commissioned an unscripted series fronted by Alan Carr, in which the British comedian searches for a castle to purchase and turn into a home for himself.

Commissioned for Hulu and currently being filmed in Scotland, Castle Man (working title) is produced by Expectation (Clarkson’s Farm).

Expectation co-CEO Peter Fincham exec produces with creative director of entertainment Ben Wicks, Claire Walls and Danny Julian. Carr also exec produces.

The series was commissioned out of the UK for Disney+ by Angela Jain, head of content, and Sean Doyle, VP of unscripted, EMEA.

Doyle said: “Alan Carr is one of those rare talents who brings instant warmth, wit, and originality to everything he touches. We’ve watched him turn his hand to stand-up, gameshows, podcasts and presenting, but when we discovered he was looking to purchase a castle to run, we knew this was a journey we had to follow.”
