Disney+ Hotstar Indonesia books appointment with BBC Studios’ Doctor Foster

Disney+ Hotstar Indonesia has ordered a local version of BBC Studios drama format Doctor Foster, with Screenplay Films producing.

Originally written and created by Mike Bartlett and produced by Drama Republic for BBC One, Doctor Foster is the story of a trusted GP whose life implodes when she uncovers her husband’s infidelity.

Titled Mendua (Between Two Hearts) in Indonesia, the 8×45’ relationship drama will be directed by Pritagita Arianegara (Surga yang Tak Dirindukan 3) and will star Adinia Wirasti (Critical Eleven), Chicco Jerikho and Tatjana Saphira (Sweet Twenty).

Wicky V Olindo (Gundala) is producing, with Anthony Buncio serving as executive producer/showrunner and Thaleb Wahjudi as coproducer.

Mendua is the latest in a line of adaptations of Doctor Foster, which has already been remade in Korea and the Philippines, while a Thai version is currently in production for Channel 3.
