Disney brings in Luis Arvizu as general manager and head of D2C in Mexico

The Walt Disney Company Latin America has appointed Luis Arvizu as general manager and head of direct-to-consumer (D2C) in Mexico, a role he will officially take up on February 16.

Arvizu will report directly to Martín Iraola, appointed last November as president of Disney in Latin America, and will work closely with Renato D’Angelo, head of D2C for the entire region.

The appointment comes amid a company restructuring in the region. These changes have impacted the original production area, with the recent departures of key executives such as Leonardo Aranguibel, Cecilia Mendonça and Fernando Semenzato.

According to Cveintiuno, Disney is in the final stages of selecting new production managers in Mexico and Brazil, a process it expects to complete in the coming weeks. The restructuring is in line with a production model more aligned with the US.

Arvizu has extensive experience in digital transformation roles in Latin America. Until now, he served as MD for Mexico at programmatic intelligence company MiQ. Previously, between 2020 and 2023, he was VP of digital at TelevisaUnivision and MD of streamer ViX.

He also co-founded retail media firm Shopeak Media and held roles at companies including Yahoo!, MediaMath, Terra Networks and Axtel.

“Luis Arvizu brings a solid and diverse background in digital, media and technology. His experience reflects a proven strategic vision and a deep understanding of the market. I am confident that his leadership will be key to evolving our business in Mexico,” said Iraola.
