Discovery+ takes on rebellious nuns doc

Rebel Hearts centres on a group of nuns in 1960s Los Angeles

Factual streamer Discovery+ has acquired documentary feature film Rebel Hearts following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

The film, directed by Pedro Kos, will be available this year and tells the story of a group of nuns in 1960s Los Angeles who took on the patriarchal conventions of their cardinal.

Sharon Horgan-owned prodco Merman and Anchor Entertainment, a division of New York creative agency Anchor Worldwide, have produced the film in association with US companies Level Forward and Quiet.

Rebel Hearts is the latest documentary to be added to Discovery+’s slate since its global launch on January 4. Those already on the platform include Liverpool FC doc The End of The Storm, along with LGBT history film PS Burn This Letter Please and Paul Rudd’s My Beautiful Stutter.
