Discovery+ takes on Highgate Vampire with investigative feature doc

Factual streamer Discovery+ has commissioned a documentary feature that follows a gang of paranormal thrill-seekers as they get themselves deliberately locked inside Highgate Cemetery in London.

Produced by UK indie Big Little Fish Television, The Curse of the Highgate Vampire (1×60’) sees the team record new evidence that reignites a 50-year-old investigation into a rumoured vampire that lurks in the graveyard.

Deirdre Dowling has executive produced the doc for Discovery, while Mark Procter and Steve Jones serve as executive producers for Big Little Fish.

The Curse of the Highgate Vampire, which will be made available globally in October, is part of Ghostober, Discovery’s first cross-brand and cross-platform Halloween programming offering.

Procter, co-founder and CEO at Big Little Fish Television, said: “The legend of the vampire is one of the most enduring genres of horror and this is a stranger than fiction story of a seventies London gripped by fear and hysteria. It’s a 50-year mystery explored in a film that we’ve really loved getting our teeth stuck into.”
