Discovery schedules Italian Bake Off

MIPTV: Discovery Networks in Italy is the latest international broadcaster to commission a local version of the BBC’s cookery format The Great Bake Off.

BBC Worldwide has sold the format, originally created by Love Productions for BBC2, for the competitive baking show to Discovery for its Real Time free-to-air channel in Italy. A six-episode local version is in the works, with a premiere date to be announced.

M6 in France, Australia’s Nine Network, DR in Denmark and CBS in the US are among the broadcasters to have already commissioned local versions. TV7 in Sweden, TV3 in Norway and TLC in Poland have already greenlit second seasons.
