Discovery New Zealand, Foxtel acquire factual content from GRB Studios

Untold Stories of the ER has been picked up by Pluto TV

Discovery New Zealand and Australian pay TV operator Foxtel are among the international broadcasters to have picked up content from US-based producer and distributor GRB Studios ahead of MipTV.

Turquoise Fever, a docuseries about mining, and documentary Served: Harvey Weinstein have been acquired by Foxtel, while Discovery New Zealand has taken stand-up comedy special Rhys Darby: Mystic Time Bird, which has also been picked up by Australia’s Network 10.

In Europe, A+E Networks in Romania has picked up reality series Auction Kings, Slovenia’s Planet TV has taken drama series The Bay and France’s M6 has acquired true crime series On the Case with Paula Zahn.

Finally, medical emergency reality docuseries Untold Stories of the ER has been picked up by Pluto TV in the US and Brazil.

Hud Woodle, executive VP of international sales and operations of GRB Studios, said: “GRB is thrilled to be going into MipTV strong with a slate of distribution deals behind us and we are actively looking to acquire some great new programming from around the world in all genres scripted and unscripted. We are also looking forward to meeting in person in Cannes with our current and new partners.”
