Discovery Lat Am adds Endemol Shine trio

MasterChef Latino is produced by Endemol Shine Boomdog

Discovery Latin America has picked up three unscripted shows from distributor Endemol Shine International for its Discovery Home & Health channel across the region.

The first two seasons of MasterChef Latino and new episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Trading Spaces will all air on the factual network.

Produced by Endemol Shine Boomdog for Telemundo, MasterChef Latino was the first Spanish-language version of the culinary format to air in the US.

“Discovery Home & Health has positioned itself as the leader in the lifestyle genre, driven by the success of its themed programming such as its Home and Food nights,” said Carolina Lightcap, chief content officer at Discovery Latin America/US Hispanic.

MasterChef is produced in more than 60 markets worldwide and watched by more than 300 million viewers.

The deal was negotiated by Veronique Verges, Endemol Shine International’s senior VP of Latin America and US Hispanic.
