Discovery+ identifies second run of UFO Witness after US government report

Extraterrestrial show UFO Witness

US SVoD service Discovery+ has given the go-ahead to a second season of its show UFO Witness, after the release of a US government report on unidentified flying objects (UFOs) earlier this year added new fuel to the genre’s popularity.

The new season of UFO Witness comprises eight one-hour episodes that will stream on the platform. After debuting back in February, season one gets its broadcast debut on Discovery’s Travel Channel on November 15.

The show is produced by New York-based Anomaly Entertainment for Discovery+. For Anomaly Entertainment executive producers are Michael Sorensen, Matthew Kelly and Andrew Nock. For Discovery+, the executive producer is Cecile Bouchardeau Weiland.

The UFO report also led to other commissions this year, with NBC’s streamer Peacock commissioning a similar show fronted by singer Demi Lovato, and JJ Abrams’ prodco Bad Robot making docuseries UFO for pay TV channel Showtime.
