Discovery builds on HGTV line-up

Discovery in the UK and Ireland has commissioned three shows for property-themed channel HGTV, which rebranded from Home earlier this year.

Amanda Lamb fronts My Mortgage Free Home

The trio of commissions are My Mortgage Free Home, produced by Raise The Roof Productions; Quick Little Builds, also from Raise the Roof; and My Dream Derelict Home in the Sun, from True North.

My Mortgage Free Home sees property presenter Amanda Lamb meet families who want to change their lives by moving to a mortgage-free house.

Quick Little Builds, meanwhile, taps into the challenges homeowners face to make their homes and spaces work as multi-functional spaces, for work and play.

My Dream Derelict Home in the Sun sees property professional Scarlette Douglas embark on a mission to help Brits who are determined to obtain their dream home abroad.

The network has also renewed Sarah Beeny’s Renovate Don’t Relocate, from Outline Productions, for a third season of 15×60′ episodes.

Clare Laycock, senior VP, head of lifestyle and entertainment brands at Discovery UK and Ireland, said: “Since rebranding Home to HGTV earlier this year, we’ve combined the best British and American home and property shows to inspire viewers to transform their homes.”

Discovery acquired HGTV in 2017 as part of its US$15bn acquisition of Scripps Networks Interactive.
