Discovery Asia, SBS, Foxtel, Knowledge Network shop at Harbour Rights

Discovery Asia and Aussie public broadcaster SBS have picked up The Peoples of North Vietnam

Discovery Asia, SBS and Foxtel in Australia and Canada’s Knowledge Network are among the latest broadcasters to pick up factual and drama content from Hong Kong-based distributor Harbour Rights.

Discovery Asia has picked up doc The Peoples of North Vietnam (1×52’), the two latest episodes from the Masters of Savours series – Masters of Chilies (1×52’) and Masters of Seaweed (1×52’) – and five episodes from Harbour Rights’ flagship Flavors series.

Aussie public broadcaster SBS has also acquired The Peoples of North Vietnam and three episodes from Masters of Savours, focusing on champagne, salt and tofu.

Foxtel, meanwhile, has picked up a 10-hour history package, including Second World War docs The Masters of the Reich (4×52’), Cross & Swastika (2×52’) and Hitler & the Fortresses of the Atlantic (1×52’), as well as archaeological doc Tollund: The Enigma of the Swamp Mummy (1×52’).

Knowledge Network, a publicly funded cable broadcaster from British Columbia, has acquired mystery drama series The Long Season (12×60’), which comes from Tencent Penguin Pictures.

Elsewhere, Da Ai TV in Taiwan has bought art docs Da Vinci (1×52’) and Monet (1×52’) from The Greatest Masters of Painting series, in addition to Karnak: The Largest Temple of Egypt (1×52’) from INA and Amazon, and The Lost World (1×52’) from Mediawan.

Lastly, Phoenix Satellite Television has picked up Life Aboard an Aircraft Carrier (1×52’).

With Asia TV Forum taking place next week, Harbour Rights is lining up Arte doc Spillover (1×90’/52’), about recent virus epidemics; Love & Sex In… (4×52’), looking at South Korea, Dubai, Maghreb and Mexico; and women’s rights doc Everyone’s Looking For Their Panties (1×52’).
