Shark Teeth Films’ Secrets in the Ice

Discovery+ in the US and A+E in Europe are among the international streamers and networks to have picked up docuseries and specials from Canadian distributor Boat Rocker Studios.

Secrets in the Ice, from Shark Teeth Films and first commissioned by Discovery Science in the US, has been picked up by by A+E in the UK, Poland, Romania and South Africa, and by National Geographic in MENA, Discovery in Benelux and Italy’s RTI.

A+E OLE in Latin America and the Caribbean; Bell Media’s Canal D in French Canada; Prava I Prevodi in Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia; and ProSieben in Germany have also acquired the series, which goes to the most remote, cold and inhospitable places on the planet to reveal mysteries that were once frozen in time.

Meanwhile, Discovery+ in the US has picked up entertainment clip show Unexplained: Caught on Camera, while true crime series Secrets of a Psychopath (3×60’) has been bought by RTL Germany, Sundance Now in the US and Canada, and Viaplay in the Nordics and Baltics.

The docuseries recounts how a chance discovery of a haul of sex toys from a reservoir near Dublin in 2012 sparked an investigation that uncovered a sadomasochistic world of domination, submission and torture that ultimately ended in tragedy.

Finally, CNN Productions’ investigative series Hell in the Heartland: What Happened to Ashley and Lauria? (4×60’) is headed for Foxtel Australia/New Zealand, AETN in the UK, History Channel in Germany, streaming service Club Illico for French Canada, and Viaplay in the Nordics and Baltics.
