Dick Clark prodco goes int’l

US producer Dick Clark Productions (DCP) has launched an international division and has appointed the former president of Rive Gauche Television to head it up.

DCP, producer of television events including the Golden Globes, will look to acquire, finance and create new shows through the division.

Mark Rafalowski will be responsible for growing DCP’s international distribution and content development network in the newly created, Santa Monica-based role of exec VP, DCP International.

The American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Hollywood Film Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest are among the shows which will be distributed by the new division.

“International distribution gives us the ability to develop and grow all areas of the television business from reality and scripted to formats and acquisitions,” said Rafalowski, who was previously senior VP of business development for DCP in the late 1990’s.
