Poland’s TVP lands deep sea tragedy doc Implosion: The Titanic Sub Disaster in package deal

Polish public broadcaster TVP has acquired a package of factual programming, including documentary title Implosion: The Titanic Sub Disaster.

Produced by Renegade Stories and Galafilm Productions, it details the catastrophic implosion of the Titan submersible vessel, killing all five people on board in June 2023.

Other factual titles in the content bundle include Travels with Agatha Christie & Sir David Suchet (Soho Studios Productions and Two Rivers Media), A Royal Residence (Yeti Television), Queens that Changed the World (Woodcut Media), Kingdom Uncovered: Inside Saudi Arabia (Hardcash Productions), Ningaloo Nyinggulu (Artemis Productions), Secret World of Sound with David Attenborough (Humble Bee), Inside the Mind (Honey Bee Media), Kennedy, Sinatra & the Mafia (Peninsula Television) and Kate Middleton: A Life in Pictures (Phoenix Television).

The sales were announced by UK-based distributor Sphere Abacus, which also revealed more deals. TV2 Media Group in Hungary has snapped up culinary travel series Billy & Dom Eat the World (Dash Pictures).

Canal+, meanwhile, has taken The Jewish Nazi? (Mint Pictures) for the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Slovakia; scripted series The Boy That Never Was (Subotica) for the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary; and The Cuckoo (Clapperboard Studios) for the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.

Finally, Viasat World has bought a content package comprising true crime drama Maxine (Clapperboard Studios) for Viasat True Crime in the Baltics, CEE and CIS (excluding Belarus); BriteSpark Films’ Titanic: Secrets of the Shipwreck (BriteSpark Films) for the Baltics, CEE (excluding Poland), CIS (excluding Belarus) and Scandinavia; history series Killer Kings (FirstLookTV) for Viasat History; and Aussie Road Train Truckers (Fredbird Entertainment) for Viasat Explore in the Baltics, CEE, CIS (excluding Belarus) and Scandinavia.
